McKenna Commits to Wake Forest

Julie McKenna, the four-time Marmonte League individual girls’ golf champion from Newbury Park, has committed to Wake Forest.
McKenna, who represented Southern California on the victorious Junior America’s Cup team last summer, joins a Demon Deacon squad that is ranked No. 20 in the nation.
Other signings:
* Katie McElree, who averaged 21.5 points while leading Apple Valley to the Southern Section Division III-AA championship game, has signed with Cal State Bakersfield.
* Danielle Holthe, a middle blocker from La Puente Bishop Amat, has signed with Texas-Pan American. Holthe averaged three kills and four blocks last season, earning All-Del Rey League honors.
* John Freeth, a defensive back who played at Orange Coast College and Thousand Oaks High, has signed with Iona.
