Kapono Returning to UCLA

Jason Kapono ended weeks of indecision by announcing Friday he will return to UCLA for his senior season of basketball. The deadline for underclassmen to declare for the NBA draft is Sunday.
“I never wanted this to be a big deal,” Kapono said.
“I guess with all the other things in my life, the weeks since the season ended have just flown by.”
Kapono, the Bruins’ leading scorer three years in a row, holds school records for three-point baskets with 253 in his career and 87 in a season. He is No. 15 in scoring with 1,608 points and is on pace to move up to No. 3.
Most NBA scouts projected the 6-foot-8 forward as a high second-round pick.
“Hopefully the NBA will be in my future plans,” Kapono said. “For right now, I’m at UCLA and UCLA is where I want to be.”
