DALLAS — Mike Modano had three assists, including nice feeds on two early power-play goals, and Rob DiMaio scored twice as the Dallas Stars defeated the Washington Capitals, 5-2, Sunday night.
Modano set up goals by Bill Guerin and Darryl Sydor as Dallas turned a double minor on Chris Simon into a 2-0 lead after only 5:08.
Then came DiMaio’s first goal, sending Capital goaltender Craig Billington to the bench only 10:13 into his season debut. He gave up three goals on eight shots.
