More-Informed Voters Better Than Just More

Re “Quality May Serve Us Better Than Quantity at the Polls,” Oct. 2:
As usual, John Balzar is right on target. Granted, we need more voters if our system is to survive, but quality over quantity, please. The easier we make it to register, the more we will have unprepared people rushing to the polls at the last minute because of a hyperbolic ad they saw the night before.
Voting takes preparation, and who can do that without a copy of the ballot to study beforehand? We’re all busy, but concerned voters take time to register ahead of time and study the issues.
