Gemstar Names New President of TV Guide

Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc., the maker of software that runs on-screen television program guides, hired former Primedia Inc. executive John Loughlin to oversee TV Guide magazine.
Loughlin on Monday will become president of TV Guide Publishing Group, a new post, and will report to Gemstar Chief Operating Officer Jeff Shell, the Pasadena-based company said.
Shares of Gemstar rose 10 cents to $3.73 on Nasdaq.
