Before we start bashing Ben Howland, couldn’t we spend just a little more time bashing Steve Lavin? The current talent level at UCLA is all owed to him, the man who took a top-five program, guaranteed streams of high school All-Americans, and by the steady application of media savvy and basketball ineptitude turned it into an also-ran state school program.
