Two Plead Not Guilty in INS Shredding Case

Two Immigration and Naturalization Service subcontract workers pleaded not guilty Monday to charges stemming from the alleged shredding of documents to wipe out a 90,000-document backlog.
Dawn Randall, 24, of San Clemente and Leonel Salazar, 34, of Laguna Niguel are charged with one count of conspiracy and five counts of destroying documents. U.S. Magistrate Judge Arthur Nakazato set $10,000 appearance bonds and an April 1 trial date.
