‘Rings’ glistens at DVD awards

The extended DVD edition of “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” was the big winner at the DVD Premiere Awards on Tuesday night, picking up honors in four categories, including best overall extra features and best audio commentary on a new release.
In ceremonies at the Wiltern in Los Angeles, “Monsters, Inc.” won for best menu design and “Enlisted: The Story of MASH” was named best original retrospective documentary on a library title (“MASH Five Star Collection”).
Among movies released directly on DVD, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame II” won as best animated film and “A Gentleman’s Game” was honored as best live action film.
The latter also captured awards for actor Gary Sinise and cinematographer Conrad W. Hall.
