Birth: Luciano Pavarotti’s companion, Nicoletta Mantovani, has given birth prematurely to a girl, but a male twin was born dead after a complicated pregnancy, a hospital in Bologna, Italy, said Tuesday. The 67-year-old tenor and Mantovani, 33, have been living together since 1996.

Tape: A Tucson judge on Tuesday ordered the release of a police videotape shot during Diana Ross’ Dec. 30 arrest there on suspicion of drunken driving. The video will be released without audio, however. Assistant City Attorney Beverly Ginn said the edited tape should be available by Friday at the earliest.
