Renewed: Fox has renewed “The Simpsons” for two more years, which will make the animated show about a family of underachievers the longest-running U.S. television comedy. That will take the series through 16 TV seasons, surpassing “The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet,” which ran for 14 years on ABC starting in 1952.

New gig: Ryan Seacrest has signed a two-year contract with Clear Channel Radio that not only will keep him hosting his afternoon drive show on KYSR-FM (98.7) but also will have him filling in as guest host whenever Rick Dees takes a vacation from his morning duties at KIIS-FM (102.7). Seacrest also hosts “American Idol” on Fox.
