Father, Son Wounded in Drive-By Shooting

A father and his 2-year-old son were shot as they drove in the Harbor Gateway area Monday night by an assailant who sped away.
The father, whose name was not released, was hospitalized in critical condition. His son suffered a graze wound to the skull and was hospitalized in stable condition. A 5-year-old daughter in the car was not injured.
Police said the man was driving on Alondra Boulevard just after 8 p.m. when someone drove up and fired numerous shots.
Police closed Alondra between Menlo and Vermont avenues as more than 50 officers on foot, in cars and a helicopter searched for the assailant.
