Man Crossing 405 Struck and Killed

A man was killed Sunday evening when he was struck by a car while walking across the San Diego Freeway in Fountain Valley, authorities said.
The man was hit in the southbound lanes about 7:15 p.m., a California Highway Patrol dispatcher said. He was pronounced dead at Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center, said Joseph Luckey, a supervising deputy coroner.
Coroner’s officials were trying to identify the man, who was about 45 to 60 years old, Luckey said.
