Concordia Advances in NAIA

Concordia of Irvine advanced to the semifinals of the NAIA Division I tournament with a 64-52 victory over Barber-Scotia, N.C., Saturday in Municipal Auditorium at Kansas City, Mo.
Senior guard Rashaun Thomas led a balanced attack with 15 points for the sixth-seeded Eagles (34-4).
Concordia will make its first NAIA semifinal appearance Monday at 4 p.m. against McKendree of Illinois (34-3), which beat Olivet Nazarene of Illinois, 64-62.
Barber-Scotia (27-9) got within 40-36 with 13 minutes left, but that was as close as the Sabers would get. Concordia used a 9-0 run to take a 62-46 lead with 2:48 left.

NCAA DIVISION II
Shon Robinson scored 26 points and Darnell Hinson had 19 to lead Northeastern State of Oklahoma to the NCAA Division II championship with a 75-64 victory over Kentucky Wesleyan at Lakeland, Fla.
The Redmen (32-3) had never been past the regional semifinals.
Kentucky Wesleyan (31-4) was appearing in its sixth consecutive Division II title game and its 13th overall. The Panthers have won eight national titles, two in the last six years.
