King Prospect Aulin Dislocates Left Shoulder

Center Jared Aulin, one of the Kings’ top prospects, will miss four to five months because of a dislocated left shoulder.
Aulin, 21, was injured Thursday while fighting with the Mighty Ducks’ Shane O’Brien during a game at a four-team rookie camp at the Kings’ training facility in El Segundo.
Aulin, who is scheduled to undergo surgery Monday, also suffered soft-tissue damage in the shoulder.
“He’s a good, young player,” King General Manager Dave Taylor said.
Aulin was Colorado’s second-round selection in the 2000 NHL draft and was one of five players acquired by the Kings in the 2001 trade that sent Rob Blake to Colorado.
He had two goals and two assists in 17 games with the Kings last season and had 12 goals and 32 assists in 44 games for minor-league affiliate Manchester (N.H.).
