3 Deputies Fatally Shoot Man Wielding a Knife

San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies shot a Vista man who allegedly charged at them with a steak knife.
The three deputies responded Sunday to a call about a man wandering through the neighborhood, splattered with blood and carrying a knife.
The man, whose name was not immediately released, apparently had slashed his wrist before the deputies arrived.
Sheriff’s homicide Lt. Terry Wisniewski said the man ignored orders to drop the 5-inch knife and approached the deputies. The officers fired more than 12 times.
