Tour scrapped: Rocker Lenny Kravitz has called off his fall U.S. tour less than two weeks after announcing it, saying that unspecified “family matters” have forced him to put off the shows until 2005. The 19-city tour was to have started Sept. 11 in New Jersey and included an Oct. 15 stop at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine.

Format change: Radio station KSUR-AM (1260) changed formats Friday, dropping the adult standards fare that it had been running since May 2001 in favor of oldies music by the likes of the Beach Boys, the Drifters, Elvis Presley and Brenda Lee.
