State adds 5 marine patrol boats

The Department of Fish and Game added five new patrol boats to the California coast last week.
The fast catamarans join the agency’s 17 smaller vessels. Total cost for the new rigs: $6 million. The boats will be used to enforce fishing regulations, aid in search and rescue and respond to spills.
