Student Sent Home Dies in Car Crash

A San Diego County high school student sent home on the first day of school for violating the school district’s new dress code was killed when she lost control of her car, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Jessica Turner of Lakeside was driving her 1991 Mercury Cougar on California 67 just before 9:30 a.m. Monday when the car left the road and rolled over.
Turner, 18, was ejected from the car and thrown about 60 feet, said CHP Officer Brian Pennings. She died at the scene.
