Fox Says Wife Has No Plans to Seek Presidency

President Vicente Fox said his wife had no intention of seeking Mexico’s presidency at the end of his term, responding to harsh criticism from his former chief of staff, who had suggested that the first lady’s political ambitions were out of control. Speaking to reporters, the president said he and his wife would return to his family’s ranch in central Mexico when he leaves office in December 2006.
