A poultry processing plant in Moorefield fired 11 workers a day after an animal rights group released a secretly shot video of workers kicking, stomping and smashing chickens against walls at the facility.
Pilgrim’s Pride, a supplier for KFC restaurants, said that three of those fired were managers and that eight were hourly workers.
“We will continue with this investigation until we’re confident that every employee ... has been held accountable for their actions,” said O.B. Goolsby, president and chief operating officer for Pilgrim’s Pride.
