Floods Snarl Traffic, Prompt Evacuations

Heavy showers drenched New Jersey, causing waterways to spill over their banks and creating transportation delays.
Most of New Jersey remained under a flood watch, and more serious flood warnings were posted in the state’s northeast corner.
About 40 families were evacuated in Lodi when the Saddle River flooded. Rescue crews removed several people from stranded vehicles from flooded roads in East Rutherford. A rock slide closed a road in Fort Lee.
