16 Poor Countries to Share U.S. Funding

The U.S. selected 16 of the world’s poorest countries to share aid that may reach $5 billion a year under a program that provides cash in exchange for economic and democratic reforms.
The countries are Benin, Cape Verde, Ghana, Lesotho, Madagascar, Mali, Mozambique, Senegal, Armenia, Georgia, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Vanuatu, Bolivia, Honduras and Nicaragua, the State Department said.
