Are hungry goats the answer to weed problems?
San Diego County is using a herd of 300 goats to get rid of invasive weeds that are overtaking 75 acres of local wetlands.
The goats, from Nanny & Billy’s Vegetative Management, began chewing the chest-high pepper weed this week.
The county paid $15,000 to employ the goats as a precursor to using herbicides to eliminate the perennial weed.
