Police have arrested the chairman of the Escondido Planning Commission and charged him with forgery, possessing stolen property and manufacturing and possessing methamphetamine.
Bruce Quick, 43, was taken into custody Wednesday after police searched his landscaping business and found fake identification cards and checks, stolen credit cards, firearms and a boxed methamphetamine lab, authorities said.
Police began investigating Quick in February, when they came into contact with him near another methamphetamine lab in Escondido. He was pulled over Tuesday for driving without a front license plate, and police said they found forged items in his vehicle.
