Groups Give Support to Campus Spending Bill

A coalition of education and civil rights groups declared its support Monday for a bill in the Legislature that would require school districts to report more detailed information about campus spending on teachers.
School systems provide public data about teacher salaries on a districtwide basis. Under Senate Bill 687, the districts would have to tell how much individual schools spend on teachers, whose salaries and benefits account for the bulk of campus budgets.
