A Redding man was being held at Huntington Beach City Jail on Friday after allegedly confessing to the 1987 killing of a local woman, police said.
Louis Bostich had contacted police earlier in the week saying he had “personal information” regarding the May 1987 death of Jami J. Vitelli, who was found slain in her apartment.
When detectives flew to Northern California to interview him, according to a statement released by police, Bostich confessed to the slaying, saying that he had met Vitelli at Perq’s Bar in Huntington Beach and, at her invitation, followed her home.
Bostich was returned to Orange County, where he will face a murder charge, the police statement said.
