2003 Burge Family Winemakers Olive Hill
From the Barossa Valley in South Australia comes this stunning blend of 50% Shiraz (Syrah) with Grenache and Mourvedre from the Burge estate’s Olive Hill vineyard block. The 2003 Olive Hill is a stunner. Dark and concentrated, it has a taste of spice and something wild, but finishes smooth and opulent. The balance is exceptional, and it has the finesse to be invited to the most elegant dinner parties. Like Cote-Rotie or Bandol, this is a red that loves wild game and birds. Drink it with grilled chops or ribs too. Pour it for someone who would really appreciate an Australian wine that marries power with grace.
