A Rubidoux man suspected of shooting his girlfriend, her two young children and her mother was arrested without incident Saturday in Phoenix during a routine traffic stop, according to a written statement by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Maximilliano Romero, 27, is believed to have fled his girlfriend’s home Friday after he fired on the family. The victims were in serious condition at Loma Linda University Medical Center, a Sheriff’s Department representative said.
Neighbors identified Romero’s girlfriend as Manuela Sepulveda, 24; her children as Megan Fajardo, 5, and Andrew Albidrez, 21 months; and her mother as Wanda Darkes.
Romero is a gang member.
