Sweet Southwestern style

THE Avanyu Spa in the landmark La Posada de Santa Fe Resort in New Mexico completed a renovation during the summer that added fitting Southwestern flair to its decor and its treatment menu. The new Chocolate-Chili Wrap, for instance, promises to revitalize and tone the skin while detoxifying the body (60 minutes, $120). If that doesn’t sate your sweet tooth, the Mesquite Honey Wrap starts with an exfoliation followed by a warm, soothing honey mask (60 minutes, $120). Taking inspiration from the Native American namesake Avanyu, a mythical Tewa water serpent, the Avanyu Legend treatment is an ever-changing and personalized selection of crushed wildflowers, infused salts and bamboo for the scrub and an array of muds, seaweeds and oils for the mask (90 minutes, $170).
