Redistricting plan crosses the line

As a Democrat, I can agree with your support of Proposition 77 (editorial, Oct. 23) as long as I am comfortable with a permanent Republican majority in Congress. A Democrat in California would have to be an idiot to unilaterally support a possible loss in our majority here. I will support Proposition 77 when Texas and every other state agree to turn over redistricting to independent judges and get it out of the hands of thugs like Tom DeLay.
