Bring the world to your table

After 20 years as a children’s retailer with Imagine and Imagine That, Andrea Wolman decided, “It was time to grow up.” Her latest venture with her identical twin, architect Cheryl Wada, is fittingly called Duet and brings a world-traveler take on entertaining to the western edge of Rancho Park. Their tabletop collections include a chocolate brown large-scale floral pattern from Italy and, just landed from France, the handmade white-glazed creations of the ceramics firm Astier de Villatte, shown here, with pieces that run from $50 for a star-shaped compote to $273 for a large pitcher. Duet also carries upholstered pieces and beds designed by Wada, as well as the stylish Indochine rattan line by Red Egg of San Francisco and turn-of-the-century tapestries from India and Afghanistan, brilliantly colored works of hand-woven art that they use ever-so-casually as table toppers and throws for their custom beds. 11732 Pico Blvd.; (310) 478-1653; www.duetinteriorcollections.com.
