Renewal of Cold War
Russia has renewed its arms race with the United States, citing jingoistic U.S. foreign policy as the reason (May 11). President Bush has now accomplished what Americans thought no president could do -- renew the Cold War less than two decades after it ended.
In fact, we have a Cold War with Russia and the entire Muslim world, and two hot wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It cannot be denied that the unilateralism, bullying and incompetence of the Bush administration are largely responsible. Bush could be regarded as one of the worst presidents ever; this development in Russia adds to that possibility.
