FBI agents searched the congressional office of Rep. William J. Jefferson (D-La.) in connection with a public corruption investigation in which two of his associates have pleaded guilty, authorities said.
Debra Weierman, an FBI spokeswoman, said she could provide no additional details about the search of Jefferson’s office in the Rayburn House Office Building because the affidavit supporting the search warrant was sealed.
FBI agents searched his homes in Washington and New Orleans in August.
