MGM Mirage’s net income jumps 68%

MGM Mirage Inc. said its third-quarter profit climbed 68% as new shows, amenities and casino openings boosted revenue for the world’s second-largest gambling company.
Net income grew to $156.3 million, or 54 cents a share, in the July-September period from $93.2 million, or 31 cents, a year earlier. Revenue rose 5% to $1.90 billion.
Shares of Las Vegas-based MGM Mirage gained 84 cents to $43.65.
