Goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere remembered how another wunderkind, Washington’s Alexander Ovechkin, torched them for all three of the Capitals’ goals in a 3-2 overtime victory. “You just got to be careful not to get caught watching them,” Giguere said. “I felt I got caught watching [Ovechkin]. We were all like, ‘Whoa, this guy is good.’ ” With a point, the Ducks can tie the NHL record held by the 1983-84 Edmonton Oilers for most consecutive games with a point to start the season.
