Consumer borrowing declines in September

U.S. consumer credit unexpectedly fell $1.2 billion in September, the biggest percentage decline in nearly 14 years, as nonrevolving loans for items such as cars, boats, education expenses and holidays fell sharply, a Federal Reserve report showed.
