Philanthropists John and Donna Crean have donated $1 million to Chapman University’s new Marion Knott Studios, home of the Dodge College of Film and Media, the university announced Friday.
The gift -- given in honor of the couple’s good friend, actress Debbie Reynolds -- will establish the John and Donna Crean Film and Media Archive and Special Collection.
The archive, housing 16mm and 35mm film prints, movies and television shows on tape and DVD as well as movie and TV scripts, will be open to scholars and members of the Dodge College community, the university said.
