Pact with China is comprehensive

China and Pakistan issued a wide-ranging joint statement that calls for stepped-up cooperation in military, economic, trade, energy and anti-terrorism efforts.
The accord was reached during a visit to Pakistan by Chinese President Hu Jintao, the first Chinese leader to visit Beijing’s long-standing South Asian ally in a decade.
Separately, Pakistan’s military said it had signed an accord with China to jointly develop a “state of the art defense electronics complex.”
