Mission Inn

Opened recently on California’s Central Coast, this hotel has 120 rooms and family suites, many with ocean views. Rooms include refrigerators, microwaves and free Internet; rates include breakfast buffet. Doubles start at $109 per night; suites, at $189 (June through August, $239 and $299 respectively).

Elan Resort & Spa
The style is Mexican Colonial -- and sprawling -- at this all-inclusive resort that has reopened after renovations following Hurricane Wilma in 2005. Overlooking Nichupte Lagoon in Cancun, Mexico, it has 95 rooms and 51 villa suites, six restaurants and a spa. Rates include meals, drinks, water-sports equipment and more. Doubles start at $300 per night; one-bedroom villas at $450.

Mondrian
Scottsdale
A little of West Hollywood goes to Scottsdale, Ariz. The group that runs the sleek Mondrian Los Angeles has opened a sister hotel in the desert resort town. Mondrian Scottsdale features a new Jeffrey Chodorow restaurant, Asia de Cuba; a Skybar with a patio suitable for stargazing; and a spa called Agua. 194 rooms and suites; doubles start at $245 per night.
