* at Philadelphia 8, Houston 5: Jimmy Rollins hit his league-leading sixth home run to help the Phillies win for the first time at home in five games. A 5-foot-8, 170-pound leadoff hitter, Rollins hit a career-best 25 homers last season. “Maturity. It’s simple,” he said when asked about his strong start.
* at Chicago 7, Cincinnati 0: Rich Hill (2-0) limited the Reds to three singles over seven innings as the Cubs ended a four-game losing streak. It was the second straight strong start by the Cubs’ No. 4 starter, who yielded one hit and one run in seven innings against Milwaukee.
* Washington 6, at New York 2: The Nationals scored twice in the second inning for the second consecutive game. Before that, they became the first major league team since 1900 not to score in the first three innings of any of their first 10 games, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
* Milwaukee 3, at St. Louis 2: Rickie Weeks hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the fifth inning for the Brewers, who ended the Cardinals’ four-game winning streak.
* at Arizona 5, Colorado 4: Orlando Hudson drove in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning.
* Florida at Atlanta, ppd. rain: No makeup date was immediately scheduled. The Marlins return to Atlanta two more times this season, in June and September.
* San Francisco at Pittsburgh, ppd. rain: The game was rescheduled for today as part of a doubleheader.
* San Diego 7, at Dodgers 2: Jake Peavy (2-0) is 5-0 in his last six outings against the Dodgers.
