Rodeo gala, Versace style

THE Rodeo Drive Walk of Style tribute to Donatella Versace, held next to the Beverly Hills City Hall Feb. 8, felt like a Friars roast. 1. Eva Longoria, right, and Penelope Cruz loved the video of “SNL’s” Maya Rudolph as the diminutive design dominatrix. 2. Sharon Stone, right, mocked Donatella’s husky voice to auction off a Versace Lamborghini for Elton John’s AIDS Foundation: “This car is so sexy. It’s the Viagra of the future.” 3. Jennifer Lopez, left, and Drew Barrymore flank Marc Anthony while 4. ex-supermodels Naomi Campbell, left, and Cindy Crawford recalled a ’92 runway “moment.” 5. Sir Elton, with Sting’s spouse Trudie Styler, still misses best-pal Gianni. “I use his towels, wear his clothes and his cologne. He introduced me to the joys of table linen and porcelain.”

The awards are over -- let the party begin!

Grammy winner 6. John Mayer, who told E! red-carpet host Ryan Seacrest -- in Japanese -- that “he’d be the last to know” about a rumored romance with Jessica Simpson, blew the proverbial lid off their hush-hush hookup at Sony BMG’s Beverly Hills Hotel after-bash last Sunday. The couple got tender for seemingly planned photos at a poolside cabana, while Simpson’s sis Ashlee, proud Papa Joe and delighted industry honchos watched. Inside the hotel: 7. Double winner Carrie Underwood and honoree Smokey Robinson congratulated each other. 8. Jakob Dylan, the spitting image of dad Bob, hung on the star-strewn patio.

Everybody who is anybody was there

9. Justin Timberlake, center, launched JT-TV, a V-Cast mobile channel, on Feb. 8 by performing with pals Fergie and Timbaland at the Avalon, packed with pals Diddy, James Blunt, Paris Hilton and Perry Ferrell. Justin even shook hands like a gentleman with Britney Spears’ ex, Kevin Federline. Yikes. Awkward moment. Who invited K-Fed?

The reading glasses didn’t help

10. Kathy Bates’ host-partner, Martin Sheen, had trouble reading his lines at AARP: The Magazine’s annual Movies for Grown-Ups Awards on Feb. 6. “I thought I’d have a teleprompter,” he joked. “I’m never doing this again! Alan,

I think you should refuse your award in protest!” 11. Arkin, seated, received his Lifetime Achievement Award from “The Russians Are Coming” costar Eva Marie Saint at the Bel-Air Hotel. And he drew praise from “Little Miss Sunshine” directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris.

No party should be without ...

12. Here’s the star of the latest “Lassie” film, which won the AARP: The Magazine award for the Best Movie for Grownups Who Refuse to Grow Up. The collie barked out a brief acceptance speech when cued by the trainer that may translate to “I want my darn treat right now!”
