How far west was the Civil War?

YVONNE Smith writes that Albuquerque is the westernmost battle site of the Civil War [“Lots to Discover in Albuquerque,” Letters, Feb. 4].
This is one of those arguments that will perhaps go on forever. But Arizonans claim that Picacho Peak, alongside Interstate 10 between Tucson and Phoenix, is the site of the westernmost battle of the Civil War.
Admittedly it was a small skirmish -- but still, Union troops engaged Confederates.
