Disney announces plans for a robot movie

Walt Disney Co. said it would release a Pixar movie next year based on a robot named Wall-E and showed drawings of a possible new resort.
The animated “Wall-E” will be released in mid-2008, Disney Chief Executive Robert Iger said in a letter to shareholders on the Burbank company’s website. Disney, the world’s largest amusement park operator, also showed concepts for a new theme park and rides.
