Murder charges were filed Friday against Vitaliy Krasnoperov, the second suspect in the murders of two members of an Anaheim Hills family and the severe beating of a third.
Wearing jeans and a T-shirt with the words “Hard 8 Hot Rod,” Krasnoperov, a 21-year-old West Hollywood resident, said only “Yes, sir” to the judge when asked if he understood the proceeding.
His arraignment was postponed to Tuesday in Santa Ana. He is being held without bail.
Iftekhar Murtaza, 22, of Van Nuys has been charged in the May 21 slayings of Jayprakash and Karishma Dhanak, the father and older sister of Shayona Dhanak, an 18-year-old UC Irvine student who had dated Murtaza.
Her mother, Leela, was badly bludgeoned and remains hospitalized.
