NO. 10 OKLAHOMA (4-1) AT NO. 19 TEXAS (4-1)
- Share via
* Kickoff: Saturday 12:30 p.m.
* TV: Channel 7.
* Line: Oklahoma by 11.
* Oklahoma update: The defending Big 12 champion Sooners were No. 3 in the nation and in the thick of the national title race entering their game against Colorado. But Oklahoma lost, 27-24. The Sooners were leading the nation in scoring before that game, which was the first time Oklahoma scored fewer than 51. Still, it is third at 54 points a game and quarterback Sam Bradford leads the nation in passing efficiency with a 194.38 rating. The Sooners also rank sixth in defense, giving up only 263.6 yards a game.
* Texas update: Quarterback Colt McCoy suffered a concussion during a 41-21 loss to Kansas State last week, but has been cleared to play. Four of his passes were intercepted in the loss, bringing his season total to nine -- two more than all of last season. The Longhorns also gave up two punt returns for touchdowns -- their first since 1999. Running back Jamaal Charles has 543 rushing yards, but McCoy is second on the team with 102.
* Story line: This is the first time since 1999 that both teams enter this rivalry game without a conference victory. Come Saturday evening, one of them will be 0-2 and facing long odds of winning the Big 12 title.
* The pick: Oklahoma. The Sooners’ loss last week was a hiccup, but the Longhorns have looked mediocre all season.
