at No. 5 Florida 59, No. 22 Tennessee 20: Quarterback Tim Tebow threw for 299 yards and two touchdowns, ran for 61 yards and two scores, and lifted the Gators (3-0, 1-0) over the Volunteers (1-2, 0-1) at Gainesville. Florida extended its winning streak to 10 games, stretched its home winning streak to 18 and improved to 7-0 against its three biggest rivals under Coach Urban Meyer. Florida hasn’t lost to Tennessee, Georgia or Florida State since 2004.
at No. 2 Louisiana State 44, Middle Tennessee 0: Ryan Perrilloux threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns in his first career start for the Tigers (3-0) in a rout of the Blue Raiders (0-3) at Baton Rouge. LSU Coach Les Miles chose to rest starter Matt Flynn, who had a sprained right ankle a week earlier.
at No. 17 South Carolina 38, South Carolina State 3: Blake Mitchell threw three touchdown passes and the Gamecocks (3-0) won their sixth consecutive game in a victory over the Bulldogs (1-2) at Columbia. South Carolina is 3-0 for the first time in six years.
at No. 23 Georgia 45, Western Carolina 16: Matthew Stafford threw two second-quarter scoring passes and the Bulldogs (2-1) recovered from an offensive funk to beat the Catamounts (0-3) at Athens.
Mississippi State 19, at Auburn 14: Christian Ducre scored the go-ahead touchdown with 5:15 to play and the Bulldogs (2-1, 1-0) stopped the Tigers (1-2, 0-1) inside the 10 in the final seconds for an upset at Auburn, Ala.
at Vanderbilt 31, Mississippi 17: Chris Nickson threw for 200 yards and ran for 78 more and a touchdown to lead the Commodores (2-1, 1-1) over the Rebels (1-2, 0-1) at Nashville.
