Fox suit seeks bailout info
Fox Business Network filed a lawsuit Thursday against the U.S. Treasury Department after requests filed under the Freedom of Information Act for data regarding the financial bailout funds went unanswered.
During the last month, the network submitted two requests for information about the use of the bailout funds for American International Group, the Bank of New York Mellon and Citigroup Inc.
“In a critical time like this, amidst mounting corruptions and an economic crisis, we as a news organization feel it’s more important than ever to hold the government accountable,” said Kevin Magee, executive vice president of Fox News, who oversees the business channel.
The Treasury Department did not have an immediate response to the suit.
