Thanks to Bill Dwyre for his thoughtful column on Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s literary career [Jan. 29].
Why is it that Kareem is rarely mentioned in the litany of all-time great NBA players, compared to Michael, Larry and Magic? No one else has six MVP awards. No one has equaled his career point total. In winning five of his six NBA championship rings with the Lakers, he teamed with Magic and a great cast of players, but Magic never won a title without Abdul-Jabbar.
