at San Diego 2, Chicago 1: Kevin Kouzmanoff hit a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning and Greg Maddux and two relievers combined on a three-hitter to end the Cubs’ nine-game winning streak. Maddux gave up one run and three hits in seven innings. Heath Bell (3-3) got the win.
at Milwaukee 10, Arizona 1: Corey Hart hit a three-run, inside-the-park homer to help lift the Brewers to their sixth straight victory. Milwaukee’s Manny Parra (4-2) tied a career high with eight strikeouts in seven innings.
New York 5, at San Francisco 3: Jose Reyes hit a leadoff double, then homered and singled to help John Maine (6-4) and the Mets to victory. Reyes scored twice and Carlos Beltran had a two-run double for New York.
Florida 6, at Atlanta 4: Hanley Ramirez hit two homers, including a two-run shot in a four-run ninth inning, for the Marlins. Florida’s Mike Rabelo hit a tying two-run homer in the ninth as Manny Acosta blew a 4-2 lead.
at Pittsburgh 5, Houston 2: Zach Duke gave up two runs over 7 2/3 innings and Raul Chavez drove in three runs for the Pirates. Roy Oswalt (4-6), who had been 5-0 in his last eight starts against the Pirates, took the loss.
Cincinnati 2, at Philadelphia 0: Brett Myers’ bid for a no-hitter and a victory was spoiled by Joey Votto’s two-out RBI double in the seventh inning.
St. Louis at Washington, ppd., rain: The game will be made up as part of a day-night doubleheader today.
Colorado 2, at Dodgers 1: Jeff Baker drove in both Rockies’ run with his first home run of the season.
