Driver shot; road rage blamed

Authorities say road rage appears to be the motive behind the shooting of a motorist on Interstate 8.
California Highway Patrol Officer Marc Hale said Wednesday that the shooter opened fire Tuesday on a 22-year-old motorist after one of the drivers apparently cut the other off.
Hale said the victim, whose identity was not released, was shot in the head but managed to pull his car into a parking lot. Hale said the person is in serious but stable condition and was to undergo surgery to have a bullet removed.
Authorities said the victim remembered that the shooter was driving a silver Chrysler sedan.
